Looks like we won't be homeless after all . . .

While Jonathan's current job had given him a semi-open-ended transition period to continue working there while looking for a new employer (preferably IN Chicago) the arrangement did make both of us a little nervous. What if he didn't find anything in time? What if he had to take some crap job just to make money? What if nothing paid enough? (welcome to the constant stream of neurotic questioning in my head - be glad you don't live in it)

Anyway, all fears have been quieted because (drumroll, please), Jonathan was offered a job! AND it's a job he actually wants! AND it's in Chicago! AND it pays real money (so long as the dollar is still real money - with this downward economic spiral, who knows how long that will last).

So he is on his last trip back to California for his current company, and his last day there will be next Friday. I'm flying out this weekend to help him pack up ten years of paperwork (lucky me!), so if you are in SoCal, we would love to see you!

And then hopefully we'll both have one week to enjoy unemployment together before the new job and school kick in.
